BSC Back in the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional

IM000271INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2012 NCAA Division II Mens Golf Championships, which will take place May 7-9. The WVIAC had four teams and two individuals earn a spot in the upcoming championships.

Bluefield State earned an automatic bid to the Atlantic/East Regional by winning the WVIAC Championship. The University of Charleston, Concord and Davis & Elkins all garnered bids due to their stellar play during the 2011-12 season.

The Hilltoppers of West Liberty had two of the 32 individual student-athletes to make the field. The WVIAC Player of the Year, Joey Seabright, along with teammate Ryan Thomson will be part of the field.

The top-five teams and the top-two student-athletes not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 15-19, at The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky., as part of the 2012 Division II Spring Championships Festival. The Festival will be hosted by Bellarmine and the Louisville Sports Commission.
