Errors Doom Lady Blues in Doubleheader Loss to Kentucky State
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Bluefield State College softball team registered a total 12 errors en route to a doubleheader sweep by Kentucky State University Thursday afternoon, losing the games 11-1 (5 innings) and 5-2.
BSC was limited to only two hits in the first game but picked it up in the second game, matching Kentucky State in hits with seven. However the Lady Blues recorded seven of their 12 errors in the second game to come away with the loss.
Lindsey Cuba led the Lady Blues at the plate in the doubleheader, going 3-for-6.
Lindsey Whited was tagged with the loss of the first game and Shandi Myles recorded the loss in game two. Myles pitched well, scattering seven hits and surrendering five runs (two earned) in the game. She also hit well in the second game, going 2-for-3 with a RBI.
With little time to rest, the Lady Blues returns to the field to open conference play Saturday afternoon when they host Glenville State at Pike View High School in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
