Head Coach Jamaal Jackson Selected to ACE Program

Jamaal teamBLUEFIELD, W. Va. - Bluefield State College Men’s Basketball Coach Jamaal Jackson has been selected to participate in the NCAA & Black Coaches & Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence Program.

Jackson was one of a handful of coaches chosen nationally to participate in the four-day program, which includes coaching and professional development to help enhance each coach's skill set and develop their on- and off-the-court talents. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity of cultivating my skills as a head coach. Just as I am constantly impressing upon my players to work on their craft, I am always looking to better my own abilities. I appreciate the chance to participate in this forum,” said Jackson.

The participants will be involved with on-the-court development with coaches from around the nation as well as seminars on professional development, including breakout sessions on leadership, networking, hiring process and expectations, career planning and contracts and representation. ACE will provide participants an opportunity to engage and interact with current NCAA head basketball coaches, directors of athletics and leaders involved in intercollegiate athletics. The selected participants will receive training and education in the areas of leadership, communication, campus relations, media, community involvement and program management.

ACE is designed to provide a professional development opportunity for current NCAA collegiate men’s and women’s basketball coaches. The NCAA and BCA have partnered in this commitment to prepare racial and ethnic minority collegiate basketball coaches for future success.
