Bluefield, W. Va. — One hundred fifty Bluefield State College students earned "President's List" recognition, and 290 students received "Dean's List" honors for their academic performance during the Spring 2013 Semester and six student-athletes were named to the "President's List" while 17 student-athletes were named to the "Dean's List."
To be eligible for the "President's List," a student must be degree-seeking, carry a minimum of 12 semester hours and earn a grade point average for the semester of 3.8 or better. "Dean's List" students must carry a minimum of 12 semester hours and earn a grade point average for the semester of 3.25 or better.

TOWSON, Md. – Bluefield State men’s tennis student-athlete Shikhar Kapur was named Wednesday to the 2013 Captial One Academic All-America Division II Men’s At-Large Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The awards recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Kapur advanced to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot on the basis of being chosen as a first-team Academic All-District honoree last month for District 2.
Kapur was a third-team Capital One Academic All-America Division II Men’s At-Large choice in 2012 but thanks to a strong senior campaign this season earned second team honors.
The New Dehli, India native led the Big Blues squad to their second consecutive trip to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Division II Championship after leading Bluefield State to their second straight WVIAC regular season and tournament championships. He concluded his career being

BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – Coming off one of the most successful all-around athletic campaigns in recent history, Bluefield State College will host three summer camps this summer.
Men’s basketball coach Jamaal Jackson will kick off the camp season for BSC with his Second Annual Basketball Camp June 17-20. Jackson’s camp is an all-day camp scheduled from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Ned Shott Gymnasium. The camp is for all children (boys and girls) from ages 8-17 and the cost is $75. Following Coach Jackson’s camp will be head women’s basketball coach JJ Oliver’s first basketball camp held at Ned Shott Gymnasium. His camp will be conducted June 24-27 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Oliver’s camp is designed for young players (boys and girls), ages 8-17 and the cost is $75 per participant. BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – Bluefield State’s Shikhar Kapur has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District II men’s at-large first team released Thursday afternoon for the second consecutive year. As a result, he will now move to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration, he was named to the Academic All-America Third Team last year.
Kapur earned a spot on the academic all-district first team with a 3.75 cumulative grade point average. The Architectural Engineering Technology and Civil Engineering Technology double major adds this to a long list of accolades he’s earned this season and over his career. He was named BSC’s WVIAC Senior Scholar-Athlete this season to go along with being named Bluefield State’s Male Athlete of the Year. Kapur was named WVIAC Tennis Player of the Week twice this season and earned All-WVIAC honors for the fourth consecutive time in his career.
The New Dehli, India native posted an 8-4 singles record in dual play to earn a No. 12
